Can Giancarlo Stanton Lead The New York Yankees To World Series Glory?

The New York Yankees are one of Major League Baseball’s most recognized organizations and plenty of fans across the world will be quietly confident of a successful 2018 season. If everything goes to plan, Aaron Boone’s side could find themselves competing for a 28th World Series championship at the end of the campaign – that must be the primary aim for the Yankees this year.

It was a case of close but no cigar for New York in 2017 as the Yankees crashed out of the playoffs at the final hurdle. Boone’s men were just one win away from reaching the World Series but fell short to the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the American League Divisional Series, much to the dismay of their fans. However, that was then and this is now and you could argue that the Yankees are better equipped this time around.

2017 National League Most Valuable Player Giancarlo Stanton joined the franchise back in December and New York fans are excited to see the former Miami Marlins star in action. He became just the second player to be traded away after a 50-homer season and the Yankees will expect big things from Stanton in 2018. If he lives up to the hype, New York could be set for a return to the World Series.

Alongside the likes of Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez, Giancarlo Stanton should adjust quickly to life at Yankee Stadium. As of March 21st, the 27-time World Series champions are priced at 6/1 with most bookmakers and plenty of tipsters will fancy a Yankees triumph. The tips from Champion Bets can keep baseball fans informed on the latest news, injury issues and betting advice both before and during the upcoming campaign.

Giancarlo Stanton actually led the league in home runs (59) last year whilst Judge was a close second on 52. That kind of offensive power with the bat should give the Yankees an edge this year and it would take a brave man to back against New York. On paper, Boone has one of the strongest batting units in the sport and the Houston Astros, defending American League champions, will be wary of a Yankees backlash.

At 28 years old, Stanton has time on his hands and the blueprint is there for another New York Yankees dynasty era. Boone is an inexperienced head coach but he may be the ideal fit to take this Yankees side to successive World Series title. Looking too much into this would be foolish at this moment in time but New York certainly have the strength in depth to compete at the top of the sport for some time.

Judge, Boone and Stanton can lead New York back to the glory days – a first World Series win since 2009 beckons. The Yankee Stadium faithful will be confident of victory in 2018 and there is no question of talent. Inexperience may be their downfall but, for now, we should sit back and watch this team develop. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see New York celebrating another major sporting success at the end of the season.
