Yankees Season Starting Well Despite Cortes’ Tweet Blunder

If you’ve been keeping an eye on the Yankees and this powerhouse’s game and player stats recently, you’ll know that the New York-based team is standing as one of the strongest in MLB 2022. ‘Tis a good reason to get yourself a full list of New York’s baseball betting sites as you may need them sooner than later.

With the MLB now in full swing, the Yankees started their 10-game stretch with top statistics backing them this season, which means there’s no need to garner the Yankee Stadium’s notorious short right-field wall as a home advantage emergency to get some home runs Anthony Rizzo style.

Yankees MLB 2022 Stats & Facts

Let’s look at the cold, hard facts surrounding the Yankees and this year’s MLB tournament to determine why Caesars Sportsbook currently has the Yankees +650 to win the World Series, which is quite telling in itself:

  • The Yankees have allowed only 98 runs in 34 games, which tops all previous Yankees team stats, except for the team of 1958, who were better at run prevention. The Yankees team of 1958 still holds a record of 95 runs after the same amount of games.
  • If you want to find a Yankees’ pitching staff with a lower WHIP, you’ll have to look as far back as the early 1900s.
  • For the 9th time in the team’s history, the Yankees are 25-9, and in each previous league where they started off their season like this, they won the pennant. They also nabbed six World Series Titles every time they were on this form.

There is no doubt that the Yankees are starting strong, and the team has made sure to clean up their act in all departments, which includes deleting racial slurs on Twitter accounts.

Cortes Cleaning Up His “Unacceptable” Twitter Record

The team did experience some controversy when one of their players’ tweets containing racial slurs started doing the rounds. New York Yankees pitcher Nestor Cortes deleted his Twitter to “clean stuff up” after screenshots of the Yankees’ left-hander’s tweets containing racial slurs started surfacing about two weeks ago.

These tweets were posted about ten years ago when Cortes was 17 years old, but he set the record straight by admitting that these tweets were unacceptable, no matter his age or the fact that he was quoting lyrics from rap songs which were not meant to demean a specific group of people.

The Yankees is Ready To Roll

We’re keeping an eye on the Yankees as they are clear favorites stats-wise, and all players have done their part to get their act together for the 2022 season. Also, with players like DJ LeMahieu back and in shape after hernia surgery, Josh Donaldson keeping his game strong, and Gleyber Torres, who is now slugging those fastballs with a steady hip, there is good reason to be rooting for the Yankees during the 2022 MLB season.
