5 MLB Teams to Root for in 2022

Baseball is one of the major sports in America. It’s a game that requires split-second decisions, reflexes, mental toughness, and focus. Every player on the field has a specific role to play, and each one is important to the team’s success.

What better way to enjoy the sport than the Major League Baseball? The MLB is the highest level of professional baseball in America, and it’s where the best players in the world compete.

Have you got your favorite team yet? If not, here are five MLB teams to root for in 2022.

Philadelphia Phillies

The Philidelphia Phillies opened their 2022 MLB season last April 8 at Citizens Bank Park. Phillies fans were excited to see their team take the field again after the long lockout.

After all, the team revamped their offense with a few big bats in Nick Castellanos and Kyle Schwarber, who join fellow players J.T. Realmuto, Rhys Hoskins, and Bryce Harper. According to several reports, the team’s payroll is now at $240 million, and the lineup could challenge their home run record in 2009.

The Phillies also signed Brad Hand, Jeurys Familia, and Corey Knebel. These players are expected to address the bullpen. And with their 2022 lineup, the Phillies could make a run at the World Series Title.

New York Mets

The New York Mets are serious World Series contenders as they make more moves to strengthen their roster. Both Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom give the Mets the best one-two pitching punch in baseball.

Plus, the additions of Mark Canha, Eduardo Escobar, and Starling Marte will make the offense of the Mets a lot stronger. Also, Eric Chavez, the new hitting coach, will oversee a change in the team’s offensive reinforcement.

Another thing, Mets fans can expect big things for Francisco Lindor in 2022. His advanced stats from last season shows plenty of potentials. Overall, the Mets are looking like a powerful team, and they have an excellent chance to win it all this year.

Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays locked in a star-studded core for the long term, including Bo Bichette and Vladimir Geurrero Jr., Canada’s only MLB team boasts one of the best lineups in MLB betting and has the makings of a World Series contender.

The Jays’ rotation goes five strong, featuring Kevin Gausman and Jose Berrios. Manager Charlie Montoyo said in an interview that the group’s energy is “contagious.”

Plus, they’ve got this winning attitude, which is hard to come by because no one can teach that. And the Blue Jays have it in them; it’s their mentality. Best of all, the Blue Jays aren’t just here for this season; the team is molded to contend for years to come. So, if you’re looking for a team to get behind, the Blue Jays are a clear choice.

Los Angeles Angels

The Angels are under a lot of pressure to deliver significant results. And the team’s front office is very aware of this. Or else Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani’s efforts will all be for naught.

During the past offseason, the Angels focused on improving the team enough that the two most valuable players in the group wouldn’t have to shoulder all of the burdens.

This reality, combined with their rivals’ regression, only means the Los Angeles Angels could have a real chance at winning the division. Of course, it won’t be easy, and the road to the playoffs is still a long one. But there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for this team.

Seattle Mariners

The Mariners are a force to be reckoned with, and they will be a serious contender for the World Series title. While their players aren’t household names, they have a deep lineup that can score runs in a hurry. They also have a strong pitching staff, led by Paul Sewald.

Another thing that makes this MLB team likable is that their whole vibe screams “underdog.” They don’t have any big-name superstar players. Instead, they have a bunch of gritty guys who play hard and hustle.

The Mariners have a mix of young and old players, and they all seem to be buying into the team’s culture. They’re a fun group to watch, and they always seem to be in the thick of things.

The Mariners are a dangerous team, and you shouldn’t take them lightly. If they can stay healthy and get some timely hitting, they could make a deep run in the playoffs. Keep an eye on the Mariners as they could be the winning team this season.

Final Thoughts

Baseball fans are a passionate bunch. They follow their teams religiously and love to talk about the game. Whether they are in the stands or watching from home, they are constantly engaged in the action.
